About Unknown Artisan

Unknown Artisan is a new creative project by Lika Kubaneishvili, grounded in the values of social responsibility, ethical production, and timeless design. This women-led initiative places women at the heart of every stage, with garments made by women, for women.

The project began with her deep passion for one of tailoring’s most iconic garments: the shirt. By focusing on this single form, Unknown Artisan explores its quiet versatility through deliberate craftsmanship. Each piece is shaped by hand, produced in limited quantities, and designed to move naturally with different body types, offering comfort without compromise.

The shirts are made from natural, high-quality Italian fabrics, carefully chosen for their texture, movement, and longevity. Every element reflects the project's commitment to quality, intention, and slow design.

At its core, Unknown Artisan gives voice to the often-unseen women behind the work. It brings together skilled artisans and women with special needs, forming a community built on care, purpose, and recognition. The project honors invisible labor, quiet strength, and the transformative power of making.

Unknown Artisan is proud to collaborate with Spazio3R, a Milan-based social enterprise that supports women in vulnerable situations through tailoring. This partnership reflects a shared belief in ethical making, social impact, and the power of craft to rebuild and reconnect.

More than a fashion label, Unknown Artisan is a space where intention unfolds slowly. It challenges the pace and pressures of the mainstream industry, embracing thoughtful design and the subtle strength of feminine resilience. This is not just clothing, it is a new kind of feminism: one rooted in care, collaboration, and quiet power.

About Designer

Lika Kubaneishvili, founder and creative director of Unknown Artisan, is a Georgian fashion designer. Born in Georgia, shaped by hands and memory, and later embraced by Milan, she embodies a rich blend of cultural influence.

Deeply connected to both her birthplace and her adopted home, she carries two cultural identities and weaves them into her work. Her designs reflect this dual belonging, blending the poetic sensibility of her Georgian secular roots with the precision and refinement of Italian craftsmanship.

A feminist by nature and conviction, she proudly upholds these values, passing them on to the next generation by teaching fashion students not only how to design, but how to think with care, purpose, and responsibility.

After gaining diverse experience as a designer, she felt a growing need to affirm the presence and perspective of women in the fashion industry. This vision ultimately led to the birth of Unknown Artisan — created with intention, by women, for women.
